Pre-Party
First and foremost, make a list of
things necessary for the Princess Spa Party! Be sure to include
invitations, food, cake, supplies for activities, supplies for the “spa
treatments”, items for the goody bags, etc.
Make sure that you not only think,
but visualize, what you are actually trying to accomplish! For
instance, if you want the Princess Spa Party to be a true “Princess”
spa party, you will probably want the guests to be dressed as princesses.
To accomplish this, you can either provide the princess costumes or
ask that the guests arrive in princess clothing. For princess
costumes and accessories, go to my Princess
Costumes and Tiaras & Crowns pages.
If you feel that your princesses need
some fairy godmothers, you could recruit some “adult” fairy godmothers
to dress the part and be responsible for fairy godmother duties.
Again, as part of the visualization process, the fairy godmothers will
need wands! It is very important to visualize the whole party
from beginning to end!
Another idea would be to ask the guests
to each bring one small bottle of nail polish for the nails and toes
treatment centers. (These can probably be found at any dollar store!)
Gather all the nail polishes together and then allow your princess and
her guests to choose from the available colors. Again, this needs
to be visualized so you remember to put it on your list as an item to
add to your invitations.
As with all parties, things move forward
once the invitations are mailed, which should be done two-three weeks
in advance to allow for maximum attendance. Your little princess
will want to make sure that all her closest Princess-friends can attend!
Be sure to include the date, time, location, any information necessary
to carry out the theme, and, of course, an R.S.V.P. date and phone number.
A full assortment of Fit-for-a-Princess invitations can be found at Princess Invitations or by navigating from the I Am The Princess
home page to the Invitations page, then Cinderella Events under Disney
products.
Party
So, the day has finally arrived and
the kingdom has come to a royal standstill, breathlessly awaiting the
arrival of the invited princesses! The guests begin to arrive,
in costume, hopefully. If not, you will have taken this into consideration
and will be able to provide a costume from your stash of pre-purchased
costumes. As each guest enters, give her a headband or ponytail
holder to keep her hair away from her face during the spa treatments.
(Your Princess should stand out from the others! If you provide
robes and slippers for the spa treatments, the Princess’s color should
be different from everyone else’s. Also, her head band/ponytail
holder should be different/a different color, etc.)
You might begin the party with an activity
or two to get everyone together and “in the mood”!
After the beginning activities, you
might arrange for a “visit” from a favorite Disney princess.
Enlist the aid of an adult friend to dress-up like the featured princess
and “arrive” for a special appearance. Make sure your adult
princess has watched “her” movie prior to appearing so she can get
a handle on the character she is playing!
Another idea for your Princess Spa
Party would be to make it a Queen/Princess party. (This would
equate to a mother/daughter party.) It would be fun for the moms
to attend and “perform” the spa treatments on their own little princesses.
Maybe, you could even devise a mother/daughter activity to be included
with the rest of the fun.
Treatment Centers
It’s time for the royal treatment!
You should probably limit the treatment centers to three, four at the
most. (If the spa party will be a sleepover, you could do two
sessions – one after some activities and then the second one maybe
an hour or so before it’s time for lights out.) Remember, the
treatment centers will require a lot of towels.
There are several options for the treatment
centers – manicures, pedicures, make-up, hair, and facials. Go to Ezine Article - Spa Party
Games and Activities for
a yummy chocolate facial mask! Make sure that you have recruited
adult helpers for the treatment centers!
To obtain ideas for creating the ambiance
you need for your little princesses, you should go to Amazing Moms Spa Party Ideas. This site will give you ideas on how
to decorate your treatment room, spa activities, party favors, and a
spa party cake and cupcakes.
Food
I have found that chocolate fondue
served with pound cake and assorted fruits is a real treat and something
that seems to be memorable! After all, what could be more fun
than sitting around, giggling, and girl-talking with your girlfriends
while dipping strawberries and pound cake into warm chocolate!
Fruit smoothies are also a favorite…and,
oh, so good! Additional food suggestions can be found at Yahoo! Answers Spa Party
Food Ideas and Kaboose Spa Party Ideas.
As to cakes, there are many sites online
which can help with this party favorite! Try this link, Spa Party Cake. This cake will be a real crowd pleaser!
